How to Keep Mice Out with Caulk

Some of you heard about the mouse in my kitchen. Pretty gross huh? Crazy that a mouse stashed candy in my stove top. That was a real trick or treat moment!

They are smart and determined creatures. And they multiply very quickly. Now is the time to seal up and shut out mice or rats before they make a winter chalet out of your home. If you missed my Fearless Homeowner Hangout on Weatherization you missed lots of good stuff on prepping your home. If you want a replay, click here and say Winterize Me. We will hook you up with a replay.

The first step is to identify where they may be getting in. Lots of places are easy for a mouse to squeeze into. Now, in the past I have shown you how to caulk, specifically how to open the tube and get started (if you need a refresher watch that video here)

Watch this video now on how to seal out mice with caulk, steel wool, foam cording and spray foam. It may be a combo deal that gets the job done but I want you to be armed against our furry predators. Honestly, I hate killing them if they get in, but I will because they are dangerous. It is no joke!

The best thing about video educational tools is that they are so shareable. Be sure to share this link with your loved ones!

BONUS FOR YOU Brick House homeowners – In the video, I chat about something called Rid-O-Mice. It is a small steel cage that prevents critters from accessing your home through the weep holes in your brick. Weep holes are essential for drainage behind the brick façade. Do not caulk them closed. You can also add small piece of window screen behind the Rid-O-Mice gadgets to keep out bugs! Win win.

This is a worthwhile investment if you have had mouse issues.  Click here to see my Amazon affiliate link.
